Parents and guardians are not well-equipped to provide their children with scientific training on leadership qualities, self-confidence, conversational skills, memory enhancement, goal-setting, public speaking, etiquette, civic sense, value education, and so on. Even schools find it difficult to do so as they have to teach a large number of children at the same time. However, our well-organised Smart Camp is fully equipped to manage this situation. The organisers of the Smart Camp are very careful to limit the number of participants, identify the fields in which each participant requires special care and try to make them all equally smart. The first two days’ training is held at Labour India Educational Research Centre at Marangattupilly in Kottayam District. On the third day, the training venue is shifted to the idyllic surroundings of Vagamon Hills. Several programmes including trekking are conducted there so as to inculcate the basic lessons of self-confidence in the participants. This is a 4-day long training camp. The registration begins at 2p.m. on the first day. The camp concludes at 12 noon on the fourth day.Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls under the guidance of experienced wardens, excellent food and air-conditioned dormitories are the other attractions.
